being misunderstood

Have you ever been so misunderstood, that the misunderstanding placed you into a whole mess of trouble?
It's my belief that misunderstandings occur constantly between people. Our form of communication, the ways in which we communicate with each other, seem so ineffective at times. It is a complex human operation, involving many different things, communication. What may seem so simple can become quite complex, if the wrong meanings are taken. Aren't we lucky to have patience, and understanding when speaking with others. It's truly a gift to speak to another human being.
Zombies also have a very basic communication system. From what I see in the movies, a series of grunts, groans, screams, gasps... well as you can see, no real words. But zombies can call other zombies to an area, can communicate excitement, and are very clear about how they feel about getting struck by blunt instruments. I wonder... since zombies have a more simple form of communication with each other, are there less misunderstandings ?

Zombie Soup

Wine is wonderful

It comes to us in so many different types of bottles, some with the most beautiful
labels, that would surely inspire the greatest of artists to return to the easel.
Are there are so many variations available to us. Its flavor has hints of this and that,
spiced, herbed and so on.
And wine isn't limited to the simple grape.  Although grapes themselves are so varied aren't
they?  The taste of a grape relies on soil chemistry, temperature, and so many other
things.  Have you ever heard of strawberry wine ? Blueberry wine ?  And as I said before,
wine is wonderful, but not solely the alcoholic beverage to choose from.  There's peach
schnapps, cherry brandy, apricot brandy.  Now, do you see a trend here?  What I see is
alcoholic beverages being made almost entirely using fruits.

Fruits are wonderful

Oh I love a ripe banana, but, what about watermelon on a July day? Some delicious
pineapple, or, a juicy pear.  I'd have to say that, in general, the fruits that we
have decided to cultivate for food are sweet and delicious.  Not a bad ingredient to
use as a base for alcohol production.

Science is wonderful

This year, in 2012, we will be sending a huge robot to the planet Mars. We have discovered
a particle which explains why our universe expands. We can perform transplants to save
human lives.  But there's one particular area of science, which for some reason, defies logic,
has conflicting naming systems, and, in some cases, has systems that only certain countries
recognize. The science I refer to is Botany.

Italy is wonderful

Volcanoes, huge works of wondrous art. Italy has such a rich history, one could
ramble for hours of its splendor, including its people. There's one thing that Italy
has been doing well for centuries, and, still is, which is making wine. Now I know
that France and Germany also have a great history of wine making, but when It comes
to making wine I feel that Italy is a world leader.

Which brings us back to fruits.

Has anyone ever tried to convince you that a tomato is a fruit?
According to Botany, a tomato is a fruit only because it has seeds.
But so does a cucumber.  This brings us to our final conclusion.

I can prove to you that a tomato is a vegetable, not a fruit, based on
centuries of science, experimentation, and generations of professional
knowledge. My proof isn't something I can show you in a laboratory, but
it's more like an absence of something that will change your mind forever
about whether a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable.

It's something so simple that I'm surprised the botanical community
hasn't jumped on the wagon as well. My proof is that there is no tomato
wine.  None.  In fact, not only is there no tomato wine, there is also no
tomato brandy, or sherry. In fact, nobody makes alcohol from tomatoes, and
sells it in the stores for people to drink, because, the tomato is a vegetable
not a fruit.  If the tomato was a fruit, the great wine makers of the world
would be making tomato wine. Think about how many Italian dishes contain
tomato’s as ingredients.  Don't you think that the tomato, not the grape
would be the main ingredient in making wine ? Well, it never was, and that's

because way back when, everybody agreed on one simple truth.

 A tomato is a vegetable.

the harsh reality

Falling behind at work, our department has a backlog of work that needs processing. So much extra work in fact, that, our managers decided to create a new shift to handle the workload. This new shift is called the "morning shift " , and, it begins at 6 a.m.

Presently, being a zombie, and rarely seeing the sun, I finish my day greeted by a huge ball of plasma when I exit the building. This accursed star stabs it's bright pain into my eyes when I walk out the door. Everything is burning hot, I can feel it through the soles of my shoes while I walk to my car. I can almost feel my skin sizzling in the flare, and I am overcome with a wave of terrible heat, when I enter my car to drive home.

Don`t get me wrong, the quality of light is excellent, but, the shadows are harsh and delineated, and the wild things of the night are hiding in their safe places.

And it`s so noisy. Those birds in the morning are screaming at each other.

Soon, I`ll be back on my regular shift, but for now, I guess I`m a daytime zombie.

Dream City Painting

Dream City is something I saw when I closed my eyes before I went to sleep one night. It's a mixed media painting which includes sharpie marker, watercolor paint, watercolor pencil, and colored pencil stick. It was edited in photoshop but the only thing I adjusted was the brightness, and the logo and date. The painting hardly does justice to the beautiful scene I saw when I was about to fall asleep, but I felt compelled to try and render it, so that it could be shared.

Blood of a Zombie

Lucky me, I was ordered by a doctor to take a blood test. Although my mother would argue that I pass out when I get my blood taken, getting my blood tested really doesn’t bother me that much. I’m not afraid of needles, but at the same time, I’m not fascinated by a needle going into my arm, and watching blood being drawn from my vein. So, I usually just turn the other way, while the blood is being collected.

Here’s the zombie deal.

I’m not allowed to have any food for 12 hours before my test.

I don’t finish work until about 10 p.m. and it takes me about 30 minutes to get myself home. This means that I start making dinner, oh, at about 11 p.m. This brings me around to about 11:30 before I’m done stuffing my face. I have a beverage or two after a meal, taking me into midnight.

Now, I’m thinking, okay, Saturday morning I’ll wake up, skip the zombie coffee, watch television or something, and be at the clinic for 12 noon.

Well, it was a solid plan. Or so I thought.  Up early on Saturday, I head off to the art store to pick up some acrylic medium retarder, and then I make it to the clinic at a perfect 11:50 a.m.

Why is the door locked? Why do I see a sign saying the clinic closes at 12:00 in the afternoon?

Because ZOMBIES AREN’T WELCOME and NEITHER IS THEIR SUFFERING ZOMBIE BLOOD!

Exhausted Zombie Musings About The Universe And Death

How can it be a coincidence, that our human minds are a sentient and complex organism, but something as huge as our own planet is not ?

What is the natural connection between all things in this universe? What is the drive behind atomic particles and sub-atomic particles, or, if you prefer, waves ?

What is it that makes these things come together to form bigger and better things? Why does the universe prefer order to disorder?

Will my own death reward me with an answer to these questions, or will my own mortal death simply lead to my ultimate ignorance, which can possibly be viewed as paradise ?
